"We are huge Kobolt fans and believe your first conversation with Nelson Moreno will make you a fan as well. But if you need further convincing here is what sets Kobolt apart:

Communication. Kobolt shines here and did so for us from day one to the end of the project. Our project was extensive. Nelson was engaged and responsive from the first chat on his website through the many twists and turns of the long process. He was always quick to respond to texts and emails and indulged our inexperienced questions. Each week (for 7 months!) he provided spreadsheet financial and construction updates.

Expertise. Nelson is an engineer by education and has broad professional experience. He hires experienced employees who line up with his integrity commitment and contribute to a culture that makes them a pleasure to have around.

Diplomacy. Construction is so much more than executing plans. There are architects, city officials, sub-contractors and vendors to interact with on the road to completion. Nelson navigated through some rough seas like a seasoned diplomat. We literally marveled at the challenges he led us through.

Addicted to problem solving. This one is a clear illustrator of how a personality predisposes someone to excellence in a profession. Many times we discovered Nelson climbing in and through recesses in our basement or attic along with his employees trying to solve the mysteries of an old house. He truly can't rest until he gets clarity.

Perhaps the best illustration of Kobolt excellence is how we felt the day of final inspection. Almost equal to the joy we felt over the superb work they had done was the sadness that the crew would not be a part of our daily lives any longer. As a long time client of Nelson and KoBolt Construction, I am appalled at the 1 star review that was left a couple days ago, as it in no way reflects Nelson or his crew. I met Nelson through Yelp years ago when I needed one of my properties completely remodeled. Since the moment we met, he and his employees have always provided OUTSTANDING service and workmanship, with the highest moral compass toward my properties, my family and myself. Due to the excellent work provided on the original property, I have hired him numerous times since to do other small jobs and one other complete kitchen and bathroom remodel to a separate property. No surprises were had when all of the work that was completed was to the absolute highest quality.

Nelson Moreno is one of the hardest working and most genuine people I know; not only this, he is honest, trustworthy, caring and just simply a good human. Listen - if you're like us, you're looking to find a great and reliable contractor for your project. Lucky for you (and us) - there's Nelson and his team at Kobolt Construction. We sought out estimates from four contractors for the addition and kitchen/bathroom renovation to an older home we had recently purchased. Three of the four contractors handed us one to two pages with vague descriptions and an estimate. Nelson called us and asked detailed questions. He provided a thorough 15 page estimate that read like a book - from foundations to finishings. Nelson takes so much time to fully understand a project and his estimate was spot on.

We were recommended to Nelson and his team and feel so lucky to have found him. There were no surprises in costs and the only additions to that original estimate were from unexpected issues (what we thought was a wall but was just a pocket door or an uneven flooring in living room due to the age of the home) or from additions we wanted added to the project (recessed lighting in all rooms and new HVAC system).

Nelson is detailed and dedicated in his work. He will always be honest and direct, and provide advice when needed but respect your decisions. His integrity is seamed into the quality of his work - and the results show it. And then there's his team - knowledgeable and kind - these guys are the best. Shout out to Walter, Brandon, Andy and the rest of the team! We got to know these men through the course of their time and they're just the best. Brandon did the amazing tile work in our bathrooms that everyone just raves about. These guys do quality work and are respectful and kind. It just doesn't get any better than Nelson and the team at Kobolt. Our home renovation was such a success - and we're already planning to work with this team on the ADU.

Do yourself a favor, and work with Nelson and the Kobolt team. They build beautiful and safe projects with skill and integrity. Absolute men of their crafts and we are just beyond grateful for the stunning home they've created for us.
